Work on special projects as penciller, inker and colorist: X-Men: Rogue, X-Men: Phoenix, Generation-X, X-Men Millennial Visions, Marvel Millennial Visions, Necrotic, Gate Crashers, Winds of Winter and others. Comic projects also involved some 3D work, either as reference or as backgrounds.

Art Director/Lead illustrator for advertising and graphic design projects for Standard Communications, Inc., Kawai Digital Instruments, Kurzweil Digital Instruments, Electricord, and others. I managed the design team, art directed photo shoots and worked with photographers to integrate QuicktimeVR and hi-res digital photography in the photo studio.

Art Director/Illustrator, package design for Celestial Seasonings, Calistoga Water, Dewar’s Scotch. Corporate design for Sony Pictures Entertainment and All Nippon Airways. Included art direction on photo shoots and printing supervision as well as photo-retouching and digital illustration.

Toyota Design and Graphics Torrance, CA (1992-1993)
Graphic design, illustration and digital production for Toyota National Headquarters. Included art direction on photo shoots and product display, photo retouching and training of fellow designers on digital production techniques.

The Designory, Inc. Long Beach, CA (1990-1992)
Production and graphic design of advertising and promotional material such as all showroom point of sale pieces for clients such as Honda, Nissan, Lexus and Porsche. Involved extensive work with typography, photography and page layout.

Teaching Experience

Teacher - Drawing & Painting and Digital Animation
Palos Verdes Peninsula High School (2004- 2006)
After designing a digital media program plan, getting it accredited with the University of California system, and gathering funding, I taught the class for a little more than 2 years, fine-tuning the curriculum which was based on a real-world graphics/animation studio working environment. I also integrated the Advanced Placement Studio Art 2D students into the program so they could make use of digital media in their portfolios. I am certificated to teach Advanced Placement art classes. Students finished the one year course with a DVD “reel” of their work and a working knowledge of motion graphics sufficient to acquire internships at graphics studios and expand their careers.

Volunteer Computer Graphics Teacher
Palos Verdes Peninsula High School (2003-2004)
High school art classes at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, worked with 4 students at a time on available computers teaching industry-standard techniques for producing their ideas in a digital medium. Gave presentations on contemporary artists who use computers in their work as well as careers in art and reported on the current state of technology in the art fields.
